With reference to Your Lordship's despatches Nos. 22 of October 17th last and 13 of the 13th ultimo, I have the honour to report that the adherence of the Australian Commonwealth and of the Government of Hongkong to the Venice Sanitary Convention was duly communicated by this Embassy to the Italian Government.
I have now received a note from Vice Admiral Morin informing me that the Belgian Government in taking act of the communication made to them of the adherence of these two colonies are anxious to know whether it is also extended to the additional declaration signed at Rome on January 24th, 1900 as an annex to the Sanitary Convention of March 19th, 1897.
I presume that the answer to this question should be in the affirmative.
I have &c.,
